Josh Fields

Pitching Coordinator

Josh Fields is a Montana native and lifelong resident of the Flathead Valley. A 1998 graduate of Columbia Falls High School, he was a three-sport athlete and standout baseball player for the Columbia Falls Wildcats and Glacier Twins American Legion program. As a senior, he was named the 1998 Montana American Legion State Tournament Most Valuable Player after excelling as both a shortstop and pitcher.

Josh continued his baseball career at Mesa Community College in Arizona, where he earned Most Outstanding Freshman Pitcher honors before being selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 23rd round of the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft.

Over the next eight seasons, Josh pitched throughout the White Sox organization, advancing from Rookie Ball to Triple-A. He appeared in 266 professional games, compiling a 2.91 ERA and 38 career saves. One of the highlights of his career came in 2003 when he was named the Carolina League Championship Series MVP after recording saves in all five games to help lead Winston-Salem to the league title. His professional career ended following a shoulder injury.

After returning to Montana, Josh earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and began a career in law enforcement, where he continues to serve today.

Josh remains deeply committed to developing young athletes. He currently serves as Pitching Coordinator for the Kalispell Sluggers while coaching the 10U Black Sluggers and assisting with the organization's older teams. His passion for teaching extends beyond baseball, as he is also an accomplished outdoorsman and competitive elk caller, earning multiple top-four finishes at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation World Elk Calling Championships.



Josh and his wife, Carla, live in Columbia Falls with their three children—Keller, Reid, and Pippa. Whether on the baseball field or in the mountains, Josh is passionate about teaching, competing, and helping young athletes reach their full potential while fostering a lifelong love for the game
